Life happens. Those two words are how I’ve always expressed the ups and downs that occur in everyone’s life. Life is filled with challenges and tragedies, the mundane and the exhilarating, and life happens on its own schedule, regardless of how much we might want it to be otherwise.
Those of you who’ve followed this site know that two and a half years ago my niece was murdered, and for a while I wasn’t sure I even wanted to write anymore. Time passed, and the people involved moved through the legal system of hearings and postponements, psychiatric evaluations, plea deals, and finally the sentencing for each of them. And while that door never really closes, it moves from your present to your past.
I feel I owe an explanation to everyone who has been so supportive, and I want to thank everyone for their patience as my family and I have dealt with the worst thing that can happen to anyone.
My writing has been sporadic, and my focus has been on my family, my sister, and the son my niece left behind. And while those still remain my focus, I finally feel like I’m in a place where I can start writing more consistently and less sporadically. I cannot yet set a date for when book 3, the Whisper of God will be finished, but I have started working on it on a regular basis.
Thanks to everyone. As I get closer to finishing it, I will keep you all posted.
